And if it is too sticky, adding a few drops of contact solution will fix it. Make sure to add small incremental amounts and not too much at one time.<\/li>\n\n<li>This borax free slime recipe uses a contact solution. I don\u2019t recommend any specific brand but you do need to ensure that the contact solution you use to make this recipe has boric acid and sodium borate in its ingredients.&nbsp;I have tried&nbsp;Equate &amp;&nbsp;Renu Fresh&nbsp;contact solution and both work equally well.While borax is a harsh chemical, contact solution with boric acid and sodium borate are mild and do not cause skin irritation. But in any case, if you or your child has sensitive skin, I recommend wearing disposable gloves while kneading the slime.<\/li>\n\n<li>If any skin irritation or redness develops while handling slime, please discard it immediately.<\/li>\n\n<li>Apply baby oil on hands while you are kneading the slime. It will prevent it from sticking on your hands.<\/li>\n\n<li>Always make slime on a flat surface covered with a plastic sheet. Making slime is a messy business and you don\u2019t want to ruin your kids\u2019 experience by fretting over the mess.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n<li>Use Plastic bowls and silicon spatulas to mix slime as they are easier to clean.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n<li>To store slime, use zip-lock pouches or airtight containers. The fluffiness will die out after a day but storing the slime in airtight pouches will prevent it from drying out and getting hard.<\/li>\n\n<li>Adult supervision is necessary while making slime.<\/li>\n\n<li>Slime should never be put in mouth.
